PERSONAL GIVING

Generous donations from New Zealanders just like you have been helping us achieve our vision for communities across New Zealand to value and engage with live chamber music, since 1950.

WHY GIVE TO CMNZ?

Together, we’ve brought outstanding world-class artists to concert halls across New Zealand. These performances sit alongside our community and education programmes that offer exceptional opportunities for children, students, and people from diverse backgrounds and abilities to experience the magic of music.

Together, we have helped encourage, support and develop young musicians through our Chamber Music Contest and education concerts. We’ve taken concert experiences into the community, provided memorable musical experiences for people with disabilities and enabled visually impaired concert goers to enjoy music through touch tours and audio described concerts.

Without Chamber Music New Zealand, I wouldn’t have had a pathway. From the Contest to uni to touring concerts to coaching others… Lots of threads have touched my life. I highly rate CMNZ’s influence on my life.

– Liam Wooding

Liam Wooding, up and coming pianist, has recently completed touring for CMNZ through our Regional series and is a prime example of the impact your support has on the life of a young musician in New Zealand.

Liam grew up in Whanganui where his music teachers took students to classical concerts. In high school he was first exposed to CMNZ’s flagship event: the NZCT Chamber Music Contest.

“The Contest was my first real in-road into classical music and learning what it’s like to play with others” Liam says. “There was a real sense of innate connection, of tūrangawaewae… and I’ve been hooked ever since.”

Every donation helps Chamber Music New Zealand to continue to nurture the love and understanding of music, to create remarkable experiences throughout Aotearoa and support local performers and composers.

The support of individuals like you helps us to fulfil our mission to nurture the love and understanding of music, create remarkable experiences throughout Aotearoa, foster live music by solo performers and small ensembles, as well as encourage and support New Zealand performers and composers.

As a not-for-profit charity, we rely on donations and support from loyal chamber music lovers. While Creative New Zealand provides approximately a third of our funding and ticket revenue up to a third, we rely on the support from our donors, partners, sponsors and funders to bring to life all that we do.

All gifts to Chamber Music New Zealand have a positive impact on the community through the magic of music nourishing both young artists, and the audiences of the future. Please join us and make a donation today.
