JUN BOUTEREY-ISHIDO

ABOUT

One of New Zealand’s most highly acclaimed young pianists, Jun will be familiar to NZ audiences from the concert stage and his competition successes, including 1st Prize at the 2008 Kerikeri International Piano Competition. Since his first overseas recital at the Port Fairy Music Festival in Australia at the age of 12, Jun has frequently represented NZ internationally, with notable performances at the International Youth Music Festival in Tokyo, Japan in 2006, in recital in Santiago, Chile in 2014, and at the NZ Pavilion of the Venice Biennale in 2011 as part of artist Michael Parekowhai’s exhibition featuring a specially carved Steinway.

He is also regularly invited to play at festivals across Europe, with performances in Cyprus, return invitations to play at festival D’aujourd’hui à demain in Cluny, France; in Switzerland as a regular invitee at the Semaine Internationale de piano et musique de chambre, Blonay; and in Finland, where he will be returning in July 2020 to play at the Oulunsalo soi festival in Oulu.
