Arnold and Reka Solomons have generously decided to leave a gift in their will to CMNZ Foundation. They have subscribed to Chamber Music New Zealand for many years and say that chamber music is the preferred form of classical music for them both.
Reka remembers: “Arnold’s mother was a piano teacher so he used to go to sleep listening to the music. As very young teenagers his mother would take us both to chamber music concerts.
“Chamber music has been such a passion for us both that we have been three times to the International String Quartet Competition held in Banff every three years.”
Arnold has given generously of his time and expertise over many years. He served on the Chamber Music New Zealand Trust Board from 1992-2006, including as President from 2002-2006.
“We wish to ensure the continuation of Chamber Music New Zealand into the future but also are particularly interested in supporting music education for school children. We both believe that the introduction to classical music at primary school or early secondary school level is invaluable.”
Reka and Arnold have been supporters and consumers of Chamber Music over many years. Their enthusiasm and support is deeply appreciated.
